storm sewer installation on Mulock, at Yonge, in Newmarket

Starting Monday, crews will begin storm sewer installation on Mulock Drive, just east of Yonge Street, in Newmarket. Please see below for more details.

work dates*: Monday, August 20-Tuesday, August 28
work hours*: 7am – 7pm

stage 1:

  • Crews will start working on the southeast corner of the intersection, and progress north.
  • Traffic on Mulock will be reduced to one dedicated eastbound lane and one dedicated westbound lane, east of the Yonge intersection.
  • Once complete, crews will backfill and pave the work area, and progress north.

stage 2:

  • Crews will continue to work on the northeast corner of the intersection.
  • Traffic on Mulock will be reduced to one dedicated eastbound lane and one dedicated westbound lane, east of the Yonge intersection.
  • Once complete, crews will backfill and pave the work area.

other details:

  • Access to properties and businesses will be maintained.
  • Traffic control staff and paid duty officers will be onsite, as required.
  • Wherever possible, sidewalks and bus stops will remain open. If a sidewalk or bus stop is closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk or bus stop.
  • Due to the nature of this work, at times, there will be construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.
