Starting Tuesday, crews will start paving the base-layer asphalt on the widened area on the east side of Yonge Street, from south of Savage Road to just south of Eagle Street in Newmarket. The final coat of asphalt will be paved near the completion of the rapidway. Please see below for more details.

what you need to know:

• Starting Tuesday, crews will pave the base-layer asphalt on the east side of Yonge, from south of Savage to just south of Eagle.
• Driveway access will be maintained to properties within the work zone, however short-term disruptions will occur for up-to 15 minutes while crews pave across them. We appreciate your patience during this work activity.
• Paving is heavily dependent on good, dry weather and specific temperatures. If the weather does not permit, paving operations will be postponed to the following day.
• Traffic control staff will be on site to help direct traffic as required.
• Wherever possible, sidewalks and bus stops will remain open. If a sidewalk or bus stop is temporarily closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk or bus stop.
• Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.
