Starting tomorrow, crews will begin paving the base-layer asphalt on the east side of Yonge Street, from Eagle Street to Davis Drive, on the newly widened road. The final coat of asphalt will be paved near the completion of the rapidway.
work dates*: Wednesday, September 26-Thursday, September 27
work hours*: 7am – 7pm
what you need to know:
-
Since paving is a rolling operation, some driveways will experience intermittent disruptions for up to 30 minutes.
-
Paving is heavily dependent on good dry weather and specific temperatures. If the weather does not permit, paving operations will be postponed.
-
Pedestrian access around the work area will be maintained. If a sidewalk is closed, look for directional signs which will guide you to the nearest open sidewalk.
-
Wherever possible, bus stops will remain open for the duration of this activity. If a bus stop is temporarily closed, directional signs will be onsite to guide pedestrians to the nearest open bus stop.
-
Traffic control staff will be onsite to help direct traffic as required.
-
Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.
-
Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.
*Please note: As with all construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather. We’ll provide advance notice when possible. Watch twitter.com/vivanext for last-minute updates.
