Environmental Assessment and preliminary work is underway

The 6.3-kilometre Jane Street Bus Rapid Transit [BRT] corridor between Highway 7 and Major Mackenzie Drive services 12,000 daily passenger trips and is projected to service over 20,500 daily passenger trips by 2035.

Funding >> York Region’s 10-year Capital Plan includes funding for Environmental Assessment [EA] and preliminary engineering and design to ensure this critical project is ready for construction funding from senior levels of government.

Timeline >> EA work is underway, including public consultation, and preliminary surveying and testing along on Jane Street.

Jane Street BRT will connect key destinations, such as Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, Canada’s Wonderland, and Vaughan Mills Mall, as well as transit hubs including TTC subway at VMC Station, SmartVMC, Vaughan Mills, and Major Mackenzie West Bus Terminals, and BRT on Highway 7.
